The Art of Storytelling
I plan to construct a cohesive narration by utilizing different forms of art in order to discover a unique way to illustrate a story.
Ever since I was a child, I have always been interested in telling stories; I love creating plots and characters through the art of language. This year, however, I discovered that storytelling didn’t have to be just words: illustration, graphic design, web authoring, and bookbinding are also generated through storytelling. For my senior project, I want to convey the same story using different aspects of art. For example, one section would be described with a design project, the next would be produced by coding, another would be created using an illustration, etc. The writing my projects are based on will be a short story of some kind; I plan to include excerpts from the story below the project it relates to. I want to discover other ways in which to convey a story. This project will be very contemporary due to its desire to be different, to be its own creation. I want to know if other forms of art can illustrate a single idea without confusion. Even after I graduate, I want to continue looking for the ultimate storytelling experience.
