welcome

For first meeting, bring
  1. proposal (original and, if revised, revised);
  2. title for your work;
  3. tweet-length summary/abstract (140 characters, # hashtags ok even encouraged).
Where matters are in flux or uncertain or obscure, accurately present them as such. But be clear about it! Moreover, be clear about what you do care about, which may be certain kinds of detail, rather than an overall theme. What matters, too, may be a certain kind of making or activity, or a line or mode of inquiry.

Much of the morning will be spent in discussing the proposals. Ideally, you'll bring 11 copies — one for each student, plus instructor.

preview

We'll have at least two, and hopefully three, panel presentations of work to a panel of design (and sometimes other) faculty. These will happen probably late September or early October, early November, and near end of semester. They are scheduled in the evening.

Two visiting artists/designers will join us —
Either October 21 or 23, Aaron Bouvier (a Montserrat alumnus) , and
November 6, Melissa Gruntkosky

We will also be meeting with choreographer/dancer Daniel McCusker, to think about space, points and movement in space. Stay tuned on that.
